Gifted eBook Jim Ellis
If you are a fan of X men or Heroes this book is spot on target for you. A fast paced, action packed adventure. Two friends lives are changed forever when they are "gifted" by a mysterious benefactor. They then meet up with other "talented" people to try and overcome the "lords" - beings whose abilities are amplified when they consume blood. And the battle of good vs evil begins. A well constructed read, probably best suited for older teens - but a good general read for anyone who likes adventure.

Gifted eBook Jim Ellis Reviews
This book has everything a reader could want. An engaging story, very detailed main characters, along with a great cast of support characters, and a good pace between character development and action. The only thing I noticed was a few typos that can be easily overlooked or fixed. All in all a great read, and I hope the sequel will be released soon.
it is an ok concept that could be better, but there are too many fight scenes and not enough story line, i did not finish it because of that
An average young adult adventure with lots of unrealistic drawn out fighting and sparring scenes.
WOW!!! What a FANTASTIC story!!! I loved it....thank you for your impressive imagination, Mr. Ellis. I will be reading whatever connected stories you create. Anyone who reads them will love them, too! Rolinda
The story started out OK but by the halfway mark it became boring and repetitious. In some ways it seemed like I was reading a variation of the Twilight series. I did not enjoy Twilight either.
I have no idea how this book has averaged so well for reviews. The plot itself, from the synopsis, was great! It caught my attention and I wanted to read more as it was something right in the genre I enjoy. Unfortunately, there were so many problems with the story I could not stand it and I was sorry I wasted the portion of my life it took to read it by the time I finished the story.
The spelling/grammatical errors were out of control. "It's" being substituted for "its" on a regular basis is an elementary error, as is substituting "board" for "bored". Just because two words sound the same does not mean they have the same meaning. Complete sentences are a huge factor when writing a book! There are so many times throughout the book where there is a sentence with only a few words, an unnecessary period, a conjunction starting a new sentence and the remainder of the sentence. This is an elementary error. Is a fourth grader writing this book?
Changing character views at the start of the book went great! The author changed the chapter when character views changed. This made it very easy to keep up with whose point of view you were currently with. Unfortunately, mid-way through the book, the author got lazy and stopped doing this. By the end of the book, there were no chapter changes at all and multiple character changes within a few paragraph's span, flipping so fast there was no way to keep track of who was who.
The fighting scenes obviously took a lot of effort to write, but they were the worst part of the entire book! The two scenes by the cabins, especially, were torture. Who cares about every single punch thrown by 25 characters? This isn't a script for a live play, where watching a coordinated act is a work of art, it's a book where reading about every move by every character is pure torture. In addition, when you have two sets of characters where one is defined by extra strength and the other is defined by extra strength PLUS a "gift", how on earth are the playing fields so well matched that the gifted are always needing to be patched up when the numbers are so evenly matched? It's simply ludicrous. These were the author's characters, and they didn't hold true to his own rules.
Slow start, needs tweaked but overall a really good story, hopefully there will be a book 2
